A specific training technical programme was developed within the project. The fish farming profession was the key target for training activities. The training made the effective transfer possible of the innovative skills and technology developed by this project for the European aquaculture sector.
The content of the training varied as a function of the species, the technology of the farm, the topography and climate and staff qualifications and experience and implementation of the training programme is evidently a function of the success of the RTD elements of the project.
The training started in Year 3 of the project (2006) and ended in 2007.

These courses were regional and species/technology-oriented in approach. For example, a water treatment system proposed for marine conditions will not be the same as for freshwater; similarly, a constructed wetlands system will not be the same as a flocculation/mechanical system.
The main objective was to encourage the SME fish farming sector to invest in the appropriate system identified for the farm in question and where the Consortium will provide the tools to enable the investment and operating decisions of the SME in respect of the technology identified.
The presentations of the workshops can be found via the links on the left side of this page.
